Extra-Occupational Master's Programme

For the first time since 2016, there has been an extra-occupational Master's programme especially for designers of teacher professional development (TPD) and training in Mathematics. The continuing education programme "Extra-occupational Teacher Education in Mathematics" is run by the German Centre for Mathematics Teacher Education (DZLM) in cooperation with the Christian-Albrechts-Universität (CAU) zu Kiel, the Institut für Qualitätsentwicklung an Schulen Schleswig-Holstein (IQ-SH) and the Leibniz-Institut für die Pädagogik der Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik (IPN) in Kiel. As a part-time continuing education programme (4 semesters, 7 modules) and thanks to the e-learning concept (1.5-day attendance phase at the CAU in Kiel and 5 webinars per module), the Master's programme is interesting for people from all over Germany.

Here you can read an interview with Ute Baumann (in German), one of the first students of the programme.

Objectives and contents

As professional development facilitator, the four-semester course offers you the opportunity to reflect on and scientifically deepen your own practical experience in conducting PD courses or in consulting situations while working. You will expand your didactical, technical and educational competences, supplemented by the basics of vocational adult education.

Further information (in German) and the possibility to register can be found on the official website of the IQ-SH:
